skytron® energy GmbH, one of the world’s leading developers and manufacturers of monitoring, control and supervision systems for the PV sector, will be honored today for its skylog data logger system, receiving the International Solar Industry Award in the category of System Integration.
The prize is awarded annually by the international trade magazine Solar International and recognizes companies in the photovoltaic industry for the excellence of their products, technologies and services. Winners are selected by magazine readers – in other words, by industry peers.
skylog is an innovative data acquisition system, an essential component of skytron energy’s real-time monitoring of PV plants. It helps improve the flexibility and profitability of PV power plants by providing a reliable data basis for long-term yield and availability evaluation over the entire lifecycle of a PV system. skylog is compatible with all common inverters on the market and records all important measurement values of a given PV system, keeping them available on site for several weeks with integrated uninterruptible power supply (UPS) protection. At the same time, skylog transmits all system information in minute values to the long-term database for display and evaluation to the supervision platform PVGuard®. Together with skycontrol, skytron energy’s control system, the data logger supports the controlled integration of PV plants into the power grid.
“With skylog, we offer our customers an industry standard that reliably and robustly records all relevant data for the operation and monitoring of PV power plants – around the clock and over the entire lifespan of the system, which can be more than 25 years,” says Stefan Degener, Managing Director of skytron energy. “The international Solar Industry Award confirms our efforts to provide the highest quality standards in the renewable energies sector and simultaneously remain very competitive.”
skytron energy develops monitoring, control and supervision systems for PV power plants and provides plant operators around the world with reliable system solutions and services for the economical operation of utility-scale solar plants. Expanding its capacity with 1 GWp in 2013 alone, the Berlin-based company is the world’s largest utility-scale monitoring vendor according to GTM Research.
The official award ceremony will be held today as part of the European Photovoltaic Solar Energy Conference and Exhibition in Amsterdam.
